Issue 5 - Winter 2006

Hello and welcome to the new season.

If you are reading this newsletter then you are a Foster Carer/Parent. I'm not telling you anything you don't already know: how PRECOUS you are, and the difference your choice to become a Foster Carer is making, firstly to the children or children in your community.

Connecting Foster Carers - SA is comprised of a group of Foster Carers. We voluntarily attend regular meetings representing the concerns and issues to appropriate agencies in the hope they will support us in making the much needed CHANGES.

Issue 4 - Winter 2005

The last couple of months have been busy to say the least. CFC board members continue to be very involved in areas of policy and advocacy for carers. The ongoing meetings in the drafting of the new standards framework for Alternative care has been very important for us and as foster carers we have had a significant input into those meeings to help and ensure that we as carers are being heard and that a fair and just process occurs for carers. My true belief is that we are able to provide a direct input and a strong influence into this area. It is with all the feeback we get from carers that influences our decissions, so please continue to email or write with your comments, issues and ideas.

Welcome to CFC, with Easter behind us and winter on its way, CFC-SA’s initiatives just keep on growing.

The development of more Working with Carers groups, and the local peer support groups are just some of the things we have planned.

This newsletter has lots of national information and some state news, but for future editions we welcome your input, so if you have any ideas for content let us know.
